  • Do beware folks, of putting personal information on public websites. Bad folk can gather stuff and put it together and make mischief for you.

Pansyface, I must say I'm a little surprised at you, breeding unmarried chihuahuas - is that not encouraging immorality? Should you not ensure that they are married first?  Think of the puppies, poor little things image

I think it might be a bit like when a book that you have read is filmed. The characters never quite live up to your imagination. It might be safer and more amusing if we were to say how we visualise the anonymous posters - no cheating if  you've met though.

i have a kind of mental picture of quite a few characters on here, all incorrect i should think but it is a bit like a book you visualise what people would look/be like, i've even got peoples sex wrong lol, sometimes it is really hard to work out but i think it is quite funny how you picture people in your imagination.

"Ah" Pansy, Buttercups, memories of fields of them in the water meadows below our Village, an idylic place with a large green and duck pond,. Cricket on the green warm summer evenings after school and chores done, My forte was bowling and was given a shilling by an onlooker when i got a hat trick. No TV  the locals would sit around watching us play or parade up and down the High Street. Reed flutes down the Willowgarth, Daisy chains for the girls and waving Buttercups under the girls chins to see if they liked butter. I look back on an idylic youth and then I went in the Army?

    Frank.

  • It's pretty straightforward Hortico - if someone is asking what to do or how to do it, it's because they don't  have knowledge or skills in that particular area, no matter how many letters they have after their name.  They might be an expert in potatoes but useless at roses.  If you give them advice and they don't understand what you mean I'm sure they'll ask image

A lot of people don't really want to give a list of their qualifications - they may suffer from a lapse of memory and then someone might say, 'My goodness, you ought to know that - you have qualifications in XY & Z!'

Just imagine if I joined a quiz team and got the name of a painting wrong ... team members might say 'Dove, you should have known that - you've got degrees in Fine Art!'  but any one of us can have a lapse of memory or mis-remember something.

Or on the other hand, suppose JokerJed had a ream of horticultural qualifications after his name  and answered a query about dahlias;  someone else might have had a different experience with dahlias - they might feel intimidated by the ream of horticultural letters after Jed's name and wouldn't offer a different point of view - and yet their piece of information might be just what the OP needed.

We all answer queries from our experience and knowledge acquired over the years whether those years are many or few - it doesn't really matter where it comes from image
