To move a tree or not
I have a small weeping cherry tree, about 5 feet tall. It's right next to a leylandii hedge and does not do well.
I have another part of the garden that I could put it, but not sure if can get away with moving it.
Should I just bite the bullet, rip it out and bin it and then buy another tree, or move it?

Depends how long it's been in. Good time of year to do it, ideally in about two weeks' time, when sap flow has stopped, leaves are off and the soil is still (relatively) warm. If it's only been in a year or so, then it'll lift easily, hopefully with a rootball about a foot across. Have your new site prepared so that it can go straight in, with some fresh compost mixed with the soil and a small handfull of fish, blood and bone (well mixed with the backfill soil) then water it in well and stand back. If it's been in longer, no problem, it'll just take more effort, that's all.
Timing, Tetley, snap.

Shouldn't really be on the site. Ought to be concentrating on the garden centre and sales, but THERE AREN'T ANY, IT'S DEAD! Selling more logs than trees, shrubs, plants 'n stuff

Thanks everyone. I'll give it a go in a couple if weeks. I don't know how long it's been here. I moved in last year. The last owners weren't very keen Gardeners so I would imagine it was in before they were which was about 15 years. It's not very big though so who knows.
