Suggestions please!
in Plants
Hello,
i'm looking for some suggestions on what to plant in one of my beds. I'll give you some info
ive emptied a long but narrow bed along the side of the house, the soil is pretty much clay with alot of shingle mixed in so ive added a bit of mushroom compost to help it, the bed gets morning sun only and is east facing but quite protected up against the wall of the house.
ive planted 3 holly half standards so far but looking for ideas on what else will work well? I like tight bushy shurbs like euronymous or pittosporum but also i would like nice flowering shurbs and fragrance as its near the house.
Any ideas on what you would plant would be great thanks

I love a tight clipped shurb
Before you plant anything else, dig in lots and lots of well rotted manure. I don't know many small, scented shrubs, my favourites are seldom described as neat. One way is to pop into a garden centre regularly. They will always have displays of what does well in your area at that time of year.
