I have mixed opinions on it. Done well, and trimmed regularly, and with the right setting, it can look good. Untrimmed it looks bad. In the wrong setting, it looks bad. I think overall I would prefer a good cultivar of Acer palmatum dissectum, with good autumn colour.
all those white and pink things are sick looking to me, not enough chlorophyll and liable to burn round edges in anything other than moist, still, shady, mild situations.

So was White Lightning, but it's not a cider I'd choose

The Acer I can live with ,but that other thing?? is it photinia? Vile.
