How often do I need to lift and replant Iris? How do I do that?

What type of Iris are you talking about June as there are different types.

I have some iris (the type that need "baking") that I need to move in the autumn. They will still be in the same bed in full sun. Does anyone have any advice to make it  as painless as possible for them and me to ensure that they hopefully will flower next Spring ? Many thanks.

Division is totally up to you, but it's recommended between 3 to 5 years to rejuvinate the plants. However, you can still split them if you want regardless. The best time is now till autumn. Just dig them up and split and plant the new parts immediately in where they will eventually grow. This applies to bearded/Flag Irises.

Hello Hostafan, they are the type that need a good baking in the sun, if you know what I mean.
