I am in the process of dividing my Crocosmia Lucifer - there are loads of corms attached to each "stem" - I am more confused than ever now because some have as many of 10 corms dangling down - do I cut each corm off and replant or do I just plant the string of corms with the smallest one at the top? I think I had better plant so many with all the corms on and cut some up and plant them singly! First time I have asked for help and from Cardeners - thank you all, but still a bit confused!!

Planting whole clumps is fine, but if you have a chain of corms, you will only get growth from the top corm.
However if you split the chain, each corm becomes capable of growing.
More work, but a lot more Crocosmia, more quickly.
