Plant identification

Just appeared and was very healthy and produced loads of seeds, but no idea what plant it is ??.

    The dreaded Carex pendula. A terrible seed weed. We have never allowed it to flower in 20 years and still it appears every season..

    For reasons I'm unable to remember, when I was a lad I used to grow them in my bedroom in a bucket of water with some gravel and they thrived, some reaching about 6ft
    As soon as the top bends over and touches something wet, it roots and spreads.
    As best I can remember, as nut says, a Cyperus
