Dragon plant leaves patchy and brown

Hi I have recently bought a dragon house plant. Please see images, the leaves are going brown and patchy with bits drying out. Even new leaves are doing it. I only water it when dry, I have re potted it, but maybe not into  a large enough pot, im not sure. Its not waterlogged, its in a good light. Any ideas as to what it could be? Would it be anything like mould or rust? Can dragon plants get diseases?

Thanks Jenimageimageimage

Hi Jen. It's difficult to get an overall view of your plant from the photos. Is your dragon plant a "Dracena" (possibly Dracena Fragrans)???

Going from your description of "drying out" and seeing window blinds in one of the pics, I would hazard a guess that there may be a radiator nearby? This could be the cause of the problem?

I can see no signs of mould (which is caused by damp conditions) or rust.

Sorry I can't be more helpful, I don't do houseplants, I tend to kill 'em offimage

    Just my best guess image

  • Hi. Thanks for your response. There is a radiator in the room but I moved the plant for the purpose of the pictures so its not too near it. Whole plant added to pics. It's a real shame as I rescued it from the cheap section at b&q a while ago but the leaves have got worse. They were not very bad before and only a few affected.

If it was in the reduced section, it might be that it had been neglected in store - either under or over watered - and in these cases the effects sometimes appear after the event - with tlc it may well recover, but it might get worse before it gets better.

    Good luck.  image
