White powder on buxus

Hi there, I have this white powder on my buxus. if I pack the leaves I can rub it off. Not sure if it's causing it harm. there is good fresh green growth on the balls still..and inside. What do you think?

It doesn't look like mildew (which tends not to affect buxus, anyway), but more like a residue from chalky water. Certainly the plant looks healthy. I'd give it a good wash off (perhaps not with chalky water), or wait for a good rain which might give an indication.
