What is this Cape Verde plant please?

Can anyone identify this plant that we saw growing profusely in the grounds of our hotel at Sal, one of the Cape Verde islands. There appeared to be two versions; yellow flowers with red stamens and red/red.

Looking at it again, I think that it's Caesalpinia pulcherrima.
