I'm very much on the Kindle bandwagon: my partner can't tell how much I'm spending on books and there's so much less to dust! I do have some books: mainly socio-history and archaeology books that have to be read hardback. Anything less just... doesn't feel right.

  • Logan, recently there was an advert for Littlewoods and I said to Christine 'Wow, where have they come from there'll be a Grattan advert next'.  Well, there was - Christine was a Grattan agent 40 years ago.  They sold rally good stuff.

I have been collecting books in various electronic formats for 25 years and the collection amounts to about 12.000 authors.  At present I am engaged in formalizing the catalogue and getting rid of the rubbish, hopefully the list will reduce.  I cannot comfortably read printed material so the electronic age has been a godsend.  Having said that at present I am surrounded by piles of old printed books, mainly on engineering subjects which I collected as special library through outs when I had a 'proper' job.  These also are in the process of being catalogued.  Er... anybody feel like a bit of volunteer work - no - I don't blame you.  It all keeps me out of mischief when the weather isn't fit for gardening.

Oakridge, yes I've seen the Grattan as, not the littlewoods.
