Mulching

Hi there,

I would like to add some mulching across all the borders in my garden; something that will breakdown fairly easily over autumn and winter and ready for spring.

Shall i just get some bark mulch from local DIY store?.. Or what else shall i use this time of year?

thanks

  • Bark will take years to break down and doesn't add any nutrient value to the soil.  I would use pre-bagged well rotted farmyard manure.  This will add a huge amount of nutrients to your soil and breaks down very easily - the worms will do that for you. image

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
