Viburnum dawn

Hi folks I have received the above mentioned plant it is in a 9 cm pot can I plant it straight out or would it be better to pot it on.

    Something so small would probably do better being potted on but do not make the mistake of putting it into a big pot. Over Winter the young plant will not enjoy being in cold wet soil so only use a pot slightly larger than the 9cm pot for example a 20cm pot would be ideal.

    I would pot it on as a rabbit or deer could take a liking to it, but it is fully hardy and a shade lover so leave it outside under a tree say. I does like a bit of moisture as it grows very well on my solid clay.

    Hi Wright I have no issues with either of they animals image I live in a built up area will go ahead and plant it out thanks for your reply.

  • We have one straight opposite the kitchen window in a patch of soil about 3*6' and well shaded.  It flowers all through the Winter and has a very pleasant scent.

    Hi ladybird and oakridge.

    Ladybird I will pot it on and over winter it. When will be the best time to plant it out will it be after the last frost.
