I agree, I think they look like Morning Glory (Ipoemea)

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

  • Hi Everyone,

Thank you Kitty2 and Dovefromabove for your input.

I think they may just be morning glory climber plants... not sure where to put them now.. they are growing really quick and tall.

As mentioned by Hogweed, the new leaves have started coming out as a normal leaf shape now.. i wonder what colour and design they will flower. May have them climb my garden fence, will look nice.

    Hi sunplantlife. image

Hope you have a good time at the show, a great opportunity to get some expert advice from experienced bonsai growers, gather as much info as possible.

I don't grow them myself but know it's all about the growing methods of restricting the root system and careful pruning to get a good bonsai.

Don't forget that your new seeds have the potential to grow into full size trees if you let them image

Who blanked you Kitty, how very dare they? image

Maybe SPL didn't like the suggestion it might be a (sshhhh) bindweed? I know the feeling though, I have grown morning glory from seed (Heavenly Blue and Scarlett O'Hara) for the past few years and there is always someone who casts a baleful eye.

Genuinely I do not know what bindweed seedlings look like, they just appear as grown up serial killers like the Boston Strangler. image

image Ha,ha. I'm over it now Daisy. (I was just having a bad dayimage)

My outlook is "it's nice to be nice". Life is too short to get irritated by the small stuff.

A good sense of humour helps enormously in my case, otherwise I'd be overwhelmed by recent events image

Onwards and upwards, looking forward to next springs seed sowings.?

I think morning glory are likely to be got at by the frost unless you have a heated conservatory.

Morning Glory definitely annuals even here in London, but they really are so easy to grow from seed.
