Laskspur and delphinium

I'm so glad that you posted that aym280! I didn't know I that either and wondered why 2 plants that look the same had different names.????????

    Larkspur is just a common name, not something to accurately ID a plant. If you want to sort out plants in your mind forget all those common names.

    The annuals we know as Larkspur are Consolida, (C. regalis, C. ajacis and others). Before a name change these were called Delphinium consolida, D. regalis etc. so closely related

    There are annual delphiniums, Delphinium staphysagria is a good one.

    There are many more species in the Delphinium genus than we ever see.

    Does the label say any more than delphinium aym?

    I have had a lot of plants and wonder where they are nowimage

    delphiniums=slug food

    I adore them, but one way or another they always end up as slug food, so there goes my guarantee
