Hi I have discovered three plants, in my garden, that i didn't put there ( a thriving cherry tomato, a healthy looking wild strawberry' and a Tasmanian-kangaroo Apple, The last one has quite an interesting profile.

Has anyone else come across this plant,

    No I live in the north east-uk

    Its thought the Tasmanian kangaroo apple might not stand up to frost.

    Can't think how it got here unless a bird was responsible Apparently the Ausie Aboriginals use  the fruit as a poultice on swollen joints.

    The Latin name is solanum laciniatum

    Has it got the yellow fruit?. If a different colour it may be another solanum, more common in this country.

    Solanum dulcamara has red fruits, but otherwise looks similar.

    How about a photo. Tomatoes often turn up uninvited

    it did occur to me not to experiment by having little taste  image. I will try to post a picture.

    It has buds  but no fruit as yet. apparently Betulinic-acid is found in the leaves.
