Strawberry fruit in pot

Am I ok to leave strawberries out over the winter. I have no greenhouse or anywhere in doors really to store it. When bought from shop had about 4 strawberries on it then it died but recently after cutting back it seems to have a new green shoot on it. Obviously I want more to grow next year but not sure what do with them in the winter...
Will try to post a pic of it too
Any advise?
