Frog spawn?

I have a wildlife pond (oh, okay then so it is just a basin with some stones and plants in it but still...) and it looks like there is something resembling frog spawn in it. Very lazy or very hopeful amphibians? I've tried getting a photo but it won't work.

no idea without seeing it. Unlikely but nothing's impossible. You'd need 2 frogs with faulty body clocks

  • Will try again with the camera. Yeah, can't see two frogs both getting their dates wrong. Thanks :-)

  • It's not frogspawn or any egg from a pond dwelling creature. It looks like algae with trapped air bubbles. The 'air' bubbles could be methane resulting from its slow decay or oxygen from its photosynthesis.

  • Top! Thank you so much. I shall go and see if I can set fire to it ;-) ( I jest!)

Algae and bubbles I'm afraid. But fingers crossed for next spring.
