    Eucomis aka pineapple lily.

Can go outside in sheltered areas as it tolerates a little frost but is best kept frost free over winter if grown in pots.   Feed it when it starts into growth again next spring.

Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Good find.    They'll produce fatter, denser flower spikes if you feed them.

I planted some corms in pots one year. It self seeded into the gravel on the path and has successfully survived two Scottish winters so far.
