Rusty pears

my lovely pear tree produced a huge crop 2 years ago, then the following year not a single pear survived due to rust, then the same this year - I really miss the pears they were gorgeous I wish I knew the variety, but what can I do about the rust any ideas please?

  • Much discussion on this site re the problem. Good hygiene - picking up and disposing of the leaves, then pray for a less muggy year next year. If the tree's small enough to feed easily, then try that, too, or put down a good nutritious mulch for several feet around it next April time, to conserve winter moisture and allow a the goodness to leach down to the outer roots where it matters.

    Any junipers nearby?

No juniper, and will try an early spring feed and mulch thanks for the advice
