Disguise Ugly Garden Walls

I have just moved into a house which has a garden with very high, very unsightly and crumbling, garden walls.
I was going to have them all rendered but I'd like to try and find a cheaper alternative.
Does anyone have any recommendations? Perhaps I could just cover then up with some fencing?

Personally I'd have them rendered and painted. You could go for a super clean modern finish or something more traditional. You could break it up with trellis and climbers if so desired. It gives you a blank canvas and a load of options. Depending on the size of your garden / wall area I fear a fence or paneled approach might look a little imposing. But again you could paint that and or plant against it but would it be more cost-effective than render?
Presumably there's been an old shed or garage there that's been demolished? Is it all brick? Hard to say what's best with such a mixture of plaster, render paint and mould.
Which way does it face?
What are planning to do about the concrete floor slabs?
You could (probably should) get it sand blasted to get all the old render and mouldy paint off before you attempt to re-render it. Then take a view. An old brick or stone wall could be fine with a nice climber or (depending which way it faces) a cordon tree on it. If there are rough patches you could just render those rather than all of it. Or build a wooden frame to form a section of trellis, or a living wall over the brick and leave the stone exposed or vice versa (guessing it may be a mixture).
“It's still magic even if you know how it's done.”
Thanks for the replies.
Yes, we have demolished part of a rear extension to make the garden a bit bigger. It is all brick/flint I think. The garden faces north west - only the right hand side of the garden gets sun, (the right hand side of the photo).
I am planning on having the floor decked, with composite decking (Enviro Build Duratrac)
I've got someone coming tomorrow to quote for rendering all of it. I do really like the idea of having it all smooth and smart. Will see what the quote is like!
Are the bricks crumbling or just the mortar? Would render be enough to hold it all together and make it safe? I would take advice from a few builders. The last thing you want is for the wall to fall down. And don't cover it with a fence. Better to deal with the problem rather than hiding it. A trellis panel at a later stage once it had been made safe would be ok.
