garden chair final year project

hi there I am currently designing a Garden furniture piece for my final year project. I would appreciate if you could share any ideas or problems you may face related to outdoor furniture. I am currently drawn to a chair/lounger for multiple use. I look forward to your replies.image

The problem I have with my chair / recliner is that when I recline it and it goes to a more flat position, the end of the arm rest ( the wrist end ) is higher than the elbow end, so all the blood gathers at the elbow.

I'd love a recliner where my wrists end up lower than my elbows when sunbathing.

Down here in Devon, wood becomes green and mossy, but plastic is too light and blows about.

Something heavier than plastic,  nice and solid like wood , would be good, but it must be easily cleaned.

    Devon.

My personal favourite style for a relaxing chair is the 'steamer' type where your hips and feet are at the same level. For comfort I tend to drape a blanket over the whole chair so it covers the arm-rests - so cosy I have been known to sleep outside on it after a night shift! I find a deck chair style can dig into your legs after half hour or so. A person with hip, back or knee disabilities may well struggle to get up from a deck chair.

My garden and I live in South Wales.

Something to hold a book and a drink while I'm lounging would be good image
