How soon to wait after applying lawn weed and feed before sowing seed

H,

I've used an Aftercut Autumn All-in-One treatment on my lawn however  with hindsight I've realised i've made a number of daft mistakes.

I've applied at the same time as overseeding, immediately after cutting the lawn short and scarifying. That was 10 days ago and I haven't seen any of the new seeds germinate and the grass is now very patchy (it was already patchy but I think I have burnt or killed the grass in some areas).   I should also mentioned that I had done overseeding at the beginning of August, so some of the grass may have been young.

I didnt have a particular problem with weeds, I just wanted to do another round of overseeding to fill in the gaps in the lawn and thought the Autumn all-in-one would help the process. I was in a rush to get it done so didn't read product instructions properly (or at all)

So I would like to know if the product can kill grass seed and new grass, and if so how long should I wait before adding new seed?    Will I get an opporunity to take action before winter?(bearing in mind I live in aberdeenshire). I am hoping I can take some action to make the lawn more attractive through the winter months!

Thanks

Thanks for getting back to me - I am a fool for applying the all-in-one....I just assumed that autumn treatment = good,   didnt consider that it might be damaging. lesson learned the hard way I guess.

Would it help seeds germinate/seedling grow if I rinse out the weed killer element by daily watering?  Is it worth raking up dead material?  I am tempted to apply more seed because the birds have been at it and I'm not sure there's many seeds left in the bare patches (tho perhaps they are under the surface now), but I note your advise to resist over-fussing!

I'd leave it till spring now Diskob. You could remove dead material if you want, but seed is unlikely to germinate now unless you're in a really mild area. It's simply too cold now.

Spring is the ideal time to get stuck in and sort any issues. Cut the grass regularly, if conditions allow, but don't cut it too short. It will recover a bit and be better prepared for the winter weather onslaught image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
