Succulent Issues
in Plants
Help, I've been watering my succulent just enough and leave it on my window sill. Why has the plant pot gone all white and fluffy
?

It's a fairly new pot and the salts in the clay have leached out with the moisture. Let it dry and brush it off. You often see that with new brickwork when porous or cheap bricks are used. Can be a nightmare when a contractor lets you down with new paving!

It's the natural salts in the porous pot crystallising on the surface. It won't be a problem for the plant. Some people will pay considerably more money for a pot that has this 'aged' look. I prefer it.
If you don't like it you can rub/brush it off and seal the pot with an acrylic varnish or paint, but you'll have to be more careful with the watering as a sealed pot will not allow as much evaporation as an unsealed one.

Wow thank you so much! I was afraid wipe it of!
