Plant I.D.

Hi,

Can anyone help me identify these two plants, the first I came across when i was out, seems planted, and I was interested in what it was, the second is a weed I can't identify, Any help would be great, Thanks image

    first two look like lysimachia punctata,  not sure on the other one.

    Hi Kathy,

    Yes, as Hostafan1 says, the top photos look like Lysimachia punctata, a pretty garden plant with yellow star-shaped flowers (Yellow Loosestrife is it's common name).

    Not sure as to the weed - looks similar to groundsel or sow's thistle. It's definitely from the Asteraceae family anyway!

    that weed could be Canadian Fleabane, Erigeron canadensis
