mouldy leaves on climbing rose
I have had mould on my one climbing rose all summer. I blame the damp. I have sprayed it several times and taken off every single mouldy leaf and picked them up from the ground. Am I fighting a loosing battle? Should I prune it back to the basic shrub shape? or maybe dig it up. Or what?
It is a Gertrude Jekyll from David Austen that was bought as a rose bush but it kept throwing itself up so I gave in and gave it supports up the 6 foot fence, I will try to put in a photo of this. It was brilliant in the Spring.

My garden is quite small and I am surrounded by blocks of flats, low and high rise, which means we don't get airiness, The best place in my garden is full of successful plants so I don't want to upset any of them. I just wondered if a dramatic cut back would be good or bad. I managed to post a photograph to show how beautiful my Gertie is at her best in the spring. I think I will do the same as Tetley as keep spraying her.
