Apple tree identification

Can anyone tell me what this is please, It is in the garden of our bungalow we moved into last year. It's a heavy cropper and seems ok to eat and cook.

Hmm, having read up on Red Delicious you may well be right - nice shape, lovely colour, slightly tough skin and not much flavour!
There are Apple Days everywhere this month so take an apple plus leaves and get it identified.
Now there's a thought, I've seen some advertised locally
