fox poo?

In the past year or so we have seen foxes in our neighbour's overgrown garden, and although a fox will occasionally visit our garden it has never been a big problem.

The neighbours  cleared out their garden last week and put in a fox scarer and since then we have had poo, lots of grass dug up and a very big hole under the slide which i keep filling in.

I cleared the poo up today and there is definitely not an overpowering smell, nothing really but maybe a slight muskiness under the climbing frame.

I think it is fox poo - pale brown turning darkish with lots of seeds in it and even bits if purple foil(? cadburys) but there is no smell and i only have to get within a metre of dog poo and i am retching....

Im getting a fix scarer, some spiky panels for the fence and something to spray (reluctant to do as have children)

Any ideas? we have a small,  neat garden (well, it used to be neat)

help and advice appreciated.

Thanks

  • Fox poo is usually the stinkiest one you'll find in the garden so it may be something else.  Given the digging, could it be a badger?  Foxes dig to bury food, but badgers go after leatherjackets, other grubs and worms in our lawns.

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
  • Thanks, it really doesnt stink, but I cant think how a badger could get in. Can they climb fences? There is no buried food I can see. I filled in the holes and sprinkled with a scoot type thing but there was only a little digging last night. No fouling I can see. I think I will have to do a night watch if only in the hope of seeing a badger!

When you say foil, you couldn't be identifying insect wings could you? that shimmer. That's the only part that screams hedgehog.

  • Thanks, but no, i thought that when it caught my eye but it was definitely a big strip of chocolate foil!

I wondered whether a fox whi wasn't getting much 'live' meat but more human cooked food, would have less offensive poo.
