Purpose built growing/display shed

Having last winter built a purpose build garden unit for the purpose of cultivating and showing tender plants, several of the plants appear to have failed to flourish successfully. Others Bougainvillea. comprehensive variety of citrus fruits, bananas, birds of paradise, sundaville, passion flowers, all geraniums, olives, melons, have all thrived beyond all expectations

Callas, cannas, have produced much foliage and a disappointing array of flowers

The wooden built house has 12 double glazed windows (8' x 3') rood windows double glazed- thus plenty of light. Also well ventilated.

Temperatures have never gone above 85F or below 55F

Am I doing something wrong?

Help!

David

Cannas need plenty of food and moisture David. Indoors may not be the best conditions for them during the summer. Are they all in pots in your building?

The might need more room than you're giving them too  image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • Callas need lots of water too, so I think Fairygirl may be on the money.

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
  • Thank you so much for the helpful responses. I feed the cannas and callas regularly with fortnightly/ monthly tomato food and or Miracle grow and in response to Fairygirl- yes they are all in pots

I shall post some photos shortly of my "special" world of colour.

    Footnote

I have just finished a large G & T- with a slice of lemon from my very own plant in my "shed" together with a fresh olive plucked from my tree (again from my "shed") with my dog at my feet watching the sun set over the hills of North Wales and listening to Franz List........ Ah what a contented world!!! (better still if my Callas and Cannas would join me!!!)
