Vine Weevils and nematodes in pots.

I have just used up the last of my Provado Vine Weevil killer and I want to use something less toxic next time.
I would like to use nematodes from next year for all my pots.Does anyone have any tips on usage?
Can I drench all the pots and how many times a year would I need to do this.
The weevils go for my heucheras and houseleeks mostly but I would treat all pots and containers.
Are nematodes really effective?

Thanks Verdun,I have just used the last of the Provado so must make a note of when to apply nematodes.
Hello madpenguin,
The pathogenic nematode Steinernema kraussei is used to control vine weevil larvae in both containers and the open ground.
For best results, apply in August or early September when the growing media is warm enough for the nematode to be effective (between 5 to 20 degrees Celsius) and before the larvae will have grown large enough to cause any serious damage.
A trap containing the nematodes Steinernema carpocapsae is also available for controlling the adult beetles. The traps should be placed on the ground under plants in summer. The adults enter the trap and are infected by the nematodes, thus preventing them from laying eggs.
Hope this helps.

Thanks pbff,
I think the trap for the adult beetles has only become available this year.It would be interesting to hear from anyone who has used it and if it is at all effective.
