Understand the syndrome. I'm not happy unless l have a major project on the go. The idea of a 'finished' garden is an awful thought. In fact I find that I'm unable to relax on a summers day without spotting a number of little jobs to do. So yes, be brutal - a garden is more like an etch-a-sketch than an oil painting....give it a good shake every year and start again.......

Wow, I have been round the borders today going ....rip that out, move that to there, THAT's not happy! etc etc.
Also I'm itching to split stuff and make more of it whilst improving the soil as I go ready for next spring.
Us gardeners are attuned to the seasons eh?

Yes I can't wait to put my wallflowers in and bulbs,but I will have to do it in October.
But at the moment I'm painting the doors in the hall and wallpapering.
