Abutilon

I have a collection of lovely Abutilons in various colours. In the garden, my pots of Benary's Giant are doing fine(if a little leggy). The various conservatory specimens however are losing  both leaves(turning yellow) and sudden dropping of flowers that are not fully open.I have had a few greenfly on them, but brush them off regularly and spray the plants. The compost may not be the best... could this be the problem?

i have pale yellow abutilons just says f1 mixed on label, they are outside, one's in a large wooden planter ,the other in the border , i bought both last year and when they died off i just left them to die down, this spring i was clearing out the pots of petunias etc and noticed they weren't actually dead, what type of plant are they, i just presumed they were annuals, anyway i moved them to where they are now, one has flowered since july they other one in the border is just about to flower, i'm in the south east.

Could the yellowing and dropping be too much water, i hardly ever water mine, apart from rain as i thought they probably aren't native and from somewhere hot so don't need a lot of water perhaps?

    thanks verdun :)

  • Repotted in John Innes, they appear to be doing a little better yellow leaf-wise, but flowers continue to drop a bit. Not overwatered for sure. Thanks to everyone for the advice.
