Swede taste awful

Would anyone know as to why my Swede tastes so awful. It's like a chemical taste but the smell was right. It was so bad it tainted the taste of a stew.

Sometimes, insufficient watering can cause compounds to become more concentrated in the plant, resulting in an unpleasant flavour.
Disease can also spoil the taste.
Other than that, I don't really know...
