Help needed to save a cherry tree
hey everyone,
we have a lovely ornamental cherry tree in the back garden that's showing some worrying signs and would like some advice on what to do with it.
it's showing signs of splitting, which i was told is pretty normal, and will recover from that by growing a callus tissue. there are lots of old scars on the tree from previous years and they have healed.
my main concern is that the larger branches seem to have been eaten by wood worm, and to me this shows signs of a dying tree but i'm hoping for some better news!
it looks like it's had some ivy removed previously so wonder if this has caused any damage?
if anyone has any ideas or solutions i would be very grateful as i don't really want to lose this beautiful tree!
there doesn't seem to be any signs of fungus, the leaves are really healthy and we had lovely blossom earlier in the year so i'm hoping this can be saved with the right care and attention!
