Soft sand in the garden?

I'm having some landscaping done and there will be about 1 cu metre soft sand left, which they can't take.
Will it be ok if I get them to spread it thinly over the soil then dig it in? I'll seed for a lawn in that area soon.

Should be no problem.
A very thin layer spread over the grass seed would probably help it establish and keep the birds off.
