What's wrong with my callicarpa?

Gardeners - the first picture is a callicarpa growing in the same street and is only one plant as far as I can see. The bottom pic is my spindly specimen which has just a handful of berries. What's wrong with it? I've had it about 5 years and Its planted in a sunny spot. Would appreciate an expert view on what I can do to improve its performance. Thanks in advance.

  • Food and drink, that's all. There are some inferior selections out there, some labelled as the cultivar 'Profusion' when in fact they're more 'Meagre'!  However, the correct pruning regime and good husbandry will bet yours looking fuller, at least.

Thanks HC. I was tempted to pull it up, but it gets one last chance!
