in Problem solving

I have found a plant in one of my pots that i think the birds must have planted but i don't know what it is.

Its like holly but i don't think it is.

    Definitely berberis but confused, flowering now! Got the darwinii leaf but flower is too yellow, I think, unless the time of year has caused the flower to pale slightly.  It does sometimes produce a bit of unseasonal flower. One of my customers has a large purple flowered magnolia in flower at the moment, so strange things can happen.

    It was the flower that was throwing us too, although like you i have seen magnolia in flower in the past few weeks.
