What is this shrub?

picked these up at a discount; no labels or tags on them.  The leaves are tiny, 1/4-1/2", not shiny.  Bark is greenish brown with tan striations.  It is a full sun plant, might be drought resistant as we live in the desert and our nursery carries those types for the most part.

    It does look like it could be a member of the Broom family but I couldn't be definite.
