At the moment I'm sorting out 2 lawns at the garden where I work 1 is 40 metres by 20 metres the other is 32 metres by 16 metres totalling just over a thousand square metres it all started just over 2 weeks ago and I still have another weeks work left.
Job 1 cut grass really nice and short
2 spread iron granules on lawn
3 wait 2 weeks
4. Scarify 3 different ways clearing away after each pass then finally cut grass again with walk behind mower
5. Solid tined 3 or 4 ways
6. Over seed with good quality grass seed
7. Top dress with 70/30 mix dressing
8. Drag mat both lawns
9 wait a few days then use a pre seed fertilizer
10. Wait a few more days then use a root enhancer
11. Put the lawn to bed for the winter and keep your fingers crossed for a good winter and a warm spring
12. I believe in using good quality products and a lot of hard work that's the key to a great looking lawn
Firstly fairy girl no I do not get paid quite that much how ever my point was if a contractor is getting paid 15 pounds per visit times 4 per year that's a total of 60 pounds there is his travel plus the cost of his products and his hourly rate don't know how he does it personally I could not.
I did not intend to be rude I just give my honest opinion if you look at my post below you will clearly see I know what I'm talking about and I take great pride in what I do as my posted photos will show
Well Verdon all I can say is that you and I will both have to wait until next year for the verdict.
Also if a lute is used to level the top dressing in to the holes after aerating the ground then yes I'm using one but I'm still going to call it a drag mat because that's what it is sold as
I love it thats why im so passionate about what i do.
Today after my lawn renovation i bought 300 pounds worth of plants today for a flower bed I'm reinventing they were iris plants agapanthus verbena lollipop guara hemeracallis 40 lavender plants penstemon starting to look quite nice with the roses the phlox the hydrangeas cat mint upright lobelia aquilegia hostas oh and geraniums think that's everything I just have to get it all in the right place well good night every one and God bless you all lester
Think you're a wee bit late to the discussion @emelitacaslin3mZpSTQlt. It's almost 6 years old. The OP hasn't posted since then, and I expect their lawn has either improved, or it hasn't and they've done something with it themselves.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Do you get paid £180 an hour then bulkerb? I find that hard to believe....
The OP has asked for our advice. I think your comment's actually quite rude.
