Cobnuts are in season. How to use them?

I just tried Cobnut milk, using the recipe of hazelnut milk.  I love the rich taste of it. Any other recipe  ?

  • You could chop them up and sprinkle over salads or mix some in with a fruit crumble topping. I've used hazle nuts in meringues before so I'm sure cobnuts would work too.

All we do is lightly roast them and store in an airtight jar. I eat an ounce of them every day to help with my cholesterol control.

Cobnuts are eaten whilst fresh and hazel nuts are usually older.

Filberts is also just another name for hazelnuts/cobnuts.

  • I do like eating them fresh too.  Normally I didn't get any but this year there are many left untouched.  Wondering whether the squirrels have forgotten their old patch?  Thanks for all the recipe ideas !
