Ammi majus seedlings willowy/ or are they meant to be this way?

Theses are the very 1st seedlings I have sown. I have them in front of my patio doors and keep turning them and put them outside when its sunny enough but not too breezy. Although they seem to be growing ok they are a bit floppy and willowy. I'm not sure if they are meant to be like this or they are not getting enough light. My other seedlings seem much more compact and shorter. perhaps  this is just the character of Ammi Majus seedlings. Will they need support during the winter months when they will be going into a cold frame. Any advice is welcome even if it's to bin the lot and start again!!

Not enough light, get them outside, nothing needs indoor treatment at the moment.

  • Thx nutcutlet, just a bit worried that the wind will finish them off!

It might upset them a bit for start but they'll get over it. They're hardy. If you have a cold GH or frame you could keep them in pots over winter otherwise I'd harden them off and plant them out while the ground is still warm and they're growing well.

  • I'm getting a cold frame in a few weeks time so hopefully it will be here before the weather gets too cold. They are outside as we speak!

excellent, they'll do a lot of growing before spring, might need a pot on at some point.
