Portuguese laurel dying
Hi. Around april to may we put in a row of laurel hedges and in 4-5 months all are doing well except one. It is quite quickly lightening in colour and the bottom leaves are turning brown. It is on the end of the row and they are all getting watered well. There is no sign of bugs on it. Any ideas as to what is happening please? The only other point which you can see from the picture is that they are all in line with a fence except this one. Could passing walked dogs be an influence on it? I've tried to attach a picture. Thanks. Jen.

Looking at your photo Jen it could be that the one on the end is drying out due to wind damage. The other plants might be doing better because they're sheltered by the fencing.
It's not a plant I'm familiar with, so just my best guess.
I'd have said drought. Probably early on, but the signs took a while to manifest themselves. I'd replace it and that can be done now, cheaply, with good sized root-balled plants.

Thanks for your replies, the soil particularly in this area was really sandy, so i think Ill just replace it. Its getting sicker by the day.
