New Fence Panels

Over the coming weeks I will be purchasing and installing some new fence panels, 6’ wide X 4’ high that I would like to paint/stain black that will be seen from both sides. Plain lapped bottoms with criss cross fancy tops.

If you have done this would you recommend spraying or brushing?

I think the sprays sound good Simon, but apparently they clog up. The chap delivering fencing timber to me a couple of years back was saying they're hopeless. I use a combination of brush and a roller - which works quite well on smoother areas.

Doing trellis of any kind is very time consuming though - you spend ages and it looks like you've done nothing...image

.Sprayed once. . . kept clogging up.  It's been the brush since.

I use these mini rollers to do the fences. Much quicker than a brush. Still need a brush for the fiddly bits. Doesn't matter if it is the sponge rollers or the sheepskin type.

Definitely brush. It seems to last longer
