Stinky plant
We have various trees, bushes and shrubs in our garden but one of them stinks and we can't identify which one it is. The smell is particularly bad after it has rained. It's hard to describe the smell but it's a bit like a smelly dog. Can anybody help us to identify what it is. Thank you!

some photos might help ruthie
OK. I'll try to take some tomorrow. Thanks.
Try googling viburnum. Do you have this shrub? Could be that. It gives off an unpleasant odour when wet as a defense when it has been nibbled by viburnum beetles.
Flowering currant (ribes) also stinks when wet. Known as "cat's pee plant" by my mother!!
Flowering currant smells fantastic.
Here are some photos. I think vibernum is a good call. What do people think?
