    "nice in a container image

esp if that container is also known as a " compost bin"

A friend gave me a chunk, but I discreetly let it die . I certainly wasn't going to plant it.

Is this plants evergreen??   Be nice in a container if it is.

    See original post

No, not ever "green", it's half greenish, half yellowish and half pinkish. In general I do not like variegated foliage, and I particularly dislike this combination.image

  • Oh well each to their own!!  Why so angry Papi Jo? it's only a plant.

I will pot mine up in a large container.  I love a variegated form of most plants.

I rue the day we planted it in our bog garden. Luckily it hasn't got far beyond as the rest of the garden is dry & sandy but it's completely overrun the moist area. And we can't hack it out because of the membrane underneath.

  • Second thoughts- will put it in a pot

  • Job done-it had spread underground to a nearby passionflower and was partially wrapped around it. I hope I saved both- the houttynia is now in a pot.
