No, not ever "green", it's half greenish, half yellowish and half pinkish. In general I do not like variegated foliage, and I particularly dislike this combination.
I rue the day we planted it in our bog garden. Luckily it hasn't got far beyond as the rest of the garden is dry & sandy but it's completely overrun the moist area. And we can't hack it out because of the membrane underneath.

A friend gave me a chunk, but I discreetly let it die . I certainly wasn't going to plant it.

I will pot mine up in a large container. I love a variegated form of most plants.

Second thoughts- will put it in a pot
Job done-it had spread underground to a nearby passionflower and was partially wrapped around it. I hope I saved both- the houttynia is now in a pot.
