Lawn has been dug up...

Hi,

The attached photos show my (not so well kept) lawn at the front of the house. Overnight something decided to do this to it. Can anyone shed some light on what did it and how to stop it happening in the future?

    badger?

  • Probably badger going for cockchafer grubs.

  • How to stop it is more difficult to answer. If there are grubs there a badger will carry on until it can't find any more. I think it's a bit late now to cure the chafer problem, but something to consider for next year. Are there badgers where you live?

  • Hi, thanks for the answers, yes there's badgers in the area, one goes through the back garden and under the fence out to the front. The front garden is small and open like all the other houses, yet mine is the only one that has suffered... and it was all in one night, the badger or badger must have had a feast! What the best plan for future to stop the future?

It looks as though it has done a very good job at scarifying your lawn. Invite them back in!

  • I've got a scarifier too, I guess I could sell it now... the lawns been neglected this year due to spending time with the family. Time to claim it back now though!
