Plant ID
in Plants
A few more nameless plants - can you help to identify them please? The first is a dahlia, but can anyone recognize and name it? We have had the last one (which we call a Ginger plant) for nearly 40 years - dies right down in the winter then sends up these amazing shoots in July - end of September.

I do not know the dahlia. Blue flower looks like Phacelia, next one looks like a Gaillardia, then a blue Geranium and finally a Ginger Lily (Hedychium)
Agree with Ladybird, except 2. , which is a Caryopteris.
When you don't even know who's in the team
S.Yorkshire/Derbyshire border
Thanks punkdoc. I wasn't sure on that one
The Dahlia might be Night Butterfly
A pretty name for a pretty Dahlia.
Thanks for sharing your plant naming knowledge with me - it really helps to be able to put names to all these wonderful plants and flowers. We are lucky to have many of these plants either in our garden or in the local Victorian walled garden close by - oh and the common, cliffs and open gardens too. Thanks again.
