Potato apples

Hi Everyone

I have literally hundreds of potato apples, which have developed on my Desiree potato tops and dropped off onto the area.  I'm aware that they are poisonous, but do you think it would be okay to just dig them into the ground to rot, as compost for next years veg?  There are so many, there's no way I can pick them all up!

Many thanks for replies and advice.

The problem with digging them in is that if there are any viable seeds in them you will get potatoes popping up. If it were me I would collect them up and put them in the council green bin.

Many thanks for the replies - and I have decided to take your advice..  I did pick them up this morning, (there were literally hundreds!) and have disposed of them in the garden bin.  Thanks again
