They have a nice Rhododendron - Black Magic - which would fit the bill Verd. I know - I don't really like them, but the flower colour is perfect for the new bed. I want something to provide a 'full stop' at the corner.
Apologies for hijacking your thread a bit iamto
I think Hebes would be a good shout for your edge. Loads of choice, but oneof the more structured, rounder ones would be best. Perennials are never very successful for that type of position. I think they'll just get stood on when they're emerging. Nice small shrubs are better. Euonymous of any type would be ideal, but you'll get some nice little flowers on the Hebes. Euonymous flowers are pretty non existent.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
For a perennial choice I would pick Euphorbia griffithii. It makes a lovely summer hedge of about a metre and fits itself to the space, giving a lovely rounded outline that looks like you've spent ages clipping it, when actually you don't clip it at all. It dies back in autumn, you cut off the stems and the next year it does it again. It might not be suitable if you needed to brush past it regularly, as the sap from broken stems can be an irritant. It is fairly robust though and doesn't break easily.
. Verdun, mine has extended its territory a bit, over 25 years, but isn't a problem - I dig out bits in the spring if they are in the wrong place. It has rather different conditions here though, compared to yours
Some sort of hydrangea i think will be nice, but they tend to get quite large so im unsure if it will be too much. Also the wallflower looks like it can become a nice little hedge just if i can find it in the shop. As i have thuja all around my yard i really want something flowering inside, but of course i can plant a small shrub like the euonymus and then just plant some spring blooming bulbs around them
Difficult desicion i think i will not decide this year.

Fairy, I've tried pittisporum. . . . no luck with it.
No chance here then Joyce.
