What is this?

Does anyone know what this might be? I live in the inland northwest at 3000 feet and I just found this by one of our water spouts on the lower portion of our treed property. We are mostly pine and first with native grasses and wildflowers. It has a sticky feel and strong smell.

Maybe I'm being stupid, ( often happens ) but which country are you in?

    Devon.

This is a British forum and we are mostly in the UK apart from an odd one or two like me on the European continent or Australia.

i'm afraid I haven't a clue about your mystery plant.  Maybe ask on a US based forum?

Hi tpalmquist. This is a site based in the UK so you might find it easier to contact an American gardening site. I have to say I have never seen a plant as shown in your picture.

Not a problem.  You're very welcome but we are going to struggle with your native plants as they are so different from ours.

Lots of American plants do very well here given the right soil and so on.
